A FRAME OF MIND
Secret Car Club members delight in cars. They are inspired by intelligent and beautiful design and excellence in execution. They enjoy the company of others with similar tastes.
We invite you to join us.
Secret Car Club is a members-only club.
Secret Car Club (SCC) was started in August of 2010 when Chris Erickson and two of his real estate clients decided to organize a different type of car club. More often than not, typical car clubs tend to be segregated by the same make or model in individual groups.
Chris wanted to create something different and distinctive — a group that was more inclusive — open to all makes, models, and motorcycles, from the oldest Brass Era cars to the latest manufacturer's models.
Over the years Secret Car Club has evolved into a true community of aficianados and friends. Just as we accept and celebrate an inclusive group of automotive types, we also cultivate inclusivity in our membership. We are a diverse group of people from every possible background who come together for the love of all things mechanical, from cars to boats and planes to trains. We are men, women, youngsters and families here to share this passion for cars together.
………………………
We are intent of removing all of the less attractive points of the traditional car club. Secret Car Club has no meetings, no election of officers and no dues. In doing so, we deliberately bypass the drudgery and “politics” prevalent in most car groups.
SCC meets each week on Saturday morning rain or shine, year-round.
There are only two ways you can join: you may receive an invitation to join by clicking the JOIN US button and filling out a brief questionnaire, or you can be invited by a current member. That's it. SCC doesn't care who you are, how much money you make, how many cars you have, or who you know. If you love the cars, the history, and the people, you are IN. A very simple concept.
You’ve never seen a car club like this!
CHRIS ERICKSON
FOUNDER
I think I have always been interested in cars and all things mechanical. My father tells me that even when I was a very young child my eyes would light up when I was around cars.
When I was around eight, we lived just outside of Washington, D.C., and I remember my older brother Charles coming home to visit. Each time he arrived he had a different car, from an Austin Healey, to an MG, to a Rolls Royce, Bentleys and almost anything you can imagine that was British made. He made a living purchasing them, restoring them and then reselling. From that time on I’ve loved of all things British… In my past I’ve owned several MG’s, Triumphs and Land Rovers. I enjoy the the preservation of the vehicles and the challenge of the restoration, especially Land Rovers.
Secret Car Club was a dream that became reality, and our members meet and share our cars and lives every week at Fairbanks Country Club in Rancho Santa Fe.
After several years of exclusive SCC get togethers, I decided to create events for the public — the idea of Secret Car Club Events had been brewing. I knew there was a need for an event company that could and would cater to auto, aircraft and nautical enthusiasts. Friends and colleagues I spoke with tended to agree.
More importantly, what people wanted most was a positive, friendly, social atmosphere — the same atmosphere that has made Secret Car Club so successful. I knew I could fill that need, and Secret Car Club Events was born.
So, why do I do this? The simple short answer is because it makes people happy. Our events create an opportunity for people to experience things that they may never have the opportunity to experience. Individual events can include vintage cars, boats and aircraft, food, camaraderie and community and introducing these experiences to another generation. Each event is uniquely different, a chance to meet new people, and have a new experience each time you join us.
Secret Car Club is an all inclusive community of genuine car aficionados that come from all walks of life — as long as you are a true car fan, you are welcome.
